[ARCHIVED] Free Car Seat Installation Check This Saturday

P1010063

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, working in partnership with Teton Motors and the Jackson Kiwanis Club, will be offering a free car seat checkup event Saturday, November 16, from 10am to 2pm at the Subaru dealership on 405 Powderhorn Lane in Jackson.

Certified car seat technicians will be available through the event to assist care givers’ regarding car seat installation information.

“Eight out of ten car seats are installed improperly,” said Senior Car Seat Technician and Fire Marshal Kathy Clay. “Using properly installed car seats with children properly fitted in these seats will help reduce injuries in car crashes.”

Technicians from the Children’s Learning Center, Teton County Health Department, and Jackson Hole Fire/EMS will offer car seat checkups and next-step education tips. Translators will be present to assist.

New car seats will be available during the event. Often car seats have expired and must be replaced. Donations will be accepted for these car seats and/or for the car seat program.

“As winter approaches, this is a perfect time to check car seat installations,” Clay said. “We are excited to collaborate with all the partnerships involved to make this a great community event.”
