Teton County, WY COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Preparations Finalized for Next Sub-Groups in Phase 1b

January 7, 2020, Jackson, WY – Teton County, WY is now ready to begin vaccinating sub-groups in phase 1b as described in the Wyoming Department of Health-Phase 1a and 1b COVID-19 Vaccine Priorities.  Based on Teton County’s January COVID Vaccine allocation we will focus on completing phase 1a and move into sub-groups 1, 2 and 3 of phase 1b including: Fire/EMS, Police, 911 staff, correctional staff, morticians and those who are 70 years and older.  Teton County has decided to focus on individuals 80 years and older first based on guidance from the Wyoming Department of Health and due to limited numbers of COVID vaccine doses in January.

Beginning the week of January 11, 2021 individuals ages 80 and older who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to add their name to a list that will be used to schedule appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine.  Please visit, for COVID-19 vaccination progress updates, the process to schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine and a phone number to call for assistance. 

 At this time, Teton County will receive weekly shipments of the COVID vaccine for a total of 800 doses in the month of January.  Teton County Health Director Jodie Pond, MPH stated, “We are pleased to be able to vaccinate the most vulnerable in our population, who based on their age have significantly higher mortality and morbidity from COVID-19 throughout January.  As more vaccine becomes available to Teton County, we will continue to move through the Phase 1b sub-groups as defined by the State.  We understand that many in our community are excited to be able to receive the COVID vaccine and we are excited to be able to continue to vaccinate more members of our community.  This will be a multiple month process as limited vaccine doses become available to Teton County.” 

Teton County Health Department will continue to provide weekly updates and information on plans to vaccinate individuals who are 70-79 along with other groups identified in Phase 1b as more doses of the vaccine become available.  To find the latest updates on Teton County, WY COVID Vaccine distribution progress and a more detailed description of Wyoming’s Phase 1a and Phase 1b sub-groups please visit,
