Teton County and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling will notify the public via press release, website updates, and social media of any changes to policy and procedure during the health crisis. Please see below for current operations and procedures:

Trash Transfer Station Operations Update

Jackson, WY., March 24, 2020- Per the Teton County of Commissioners newly adopted policy, the Recycling Center and Trash Transfer Station will continue operations with locked doors. The Trash Transfer Station is operating under a no-direct contact policy currently. Cash, check, and credit card transactions are no longer processed at the scale house window.

Commercial customers may utilize the following payment options:

RFID program: vehicle tare weights and load types are saved, and a card is swiped at the scale. Customers using the RFID must have an account with a security deposit and will be billed at the beginning of each month. Current RFID users at the Trash Transfer Station should ensure they have a current tare weight on their vehicles, RFID cards work properly, and get additional cards if needed.

Card-on-File: Customer must have an account set up at the Trash Transfer Station, a credit card number is saved and charged as the customer exits the scale house. The customer must stop on the inbound and outbound scale. Receipts will be e-mailed and will not be provided at the window.

Charge Account: Customer may fill out an application and establish a security deposit. Customer must stop on inbound and outbound scale. Accounts are billed at the end of each month. During the no-direct contact policy, customers will not receive the pen pad for signatures or receive a receipt. Customers will receive tickets from that day’s transactions via email overnight.

Residential customers may utilize the following options:

Private Hauler: Contact a local hauler to manage your waste.

Card-on-File: Customers must have an account set up at the Trash Transfer Station, a credit card is saved and charged as the customer exits the scale house. The customer must stop on the inbound and outbound scale. Receipts will not be given at the window but can be emailed.

Charge Account: Customer may fill out an application and establish a security deposit. Customer must stop on inbound and outbound scale. Accounts are billed at the end of each month. During the no-direct contact policy, customers will not receive the pen pad for signatures or receive a receipt. Customers will receive tickets from that day’s transactions via email overnight.

Scale house staff will use microphones and the sliding drawer to interact with customers for the foreseeable future. This preparation process will likely cause delays. ISWR appreciates your understanding and patience during this unprecedented event.

Recycling Center Updates:

  • Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling has suspended textile recycling, electronic waste recycling, shredding services, and fluorescent bulb recycling until further notice. Please hold your materials until emergency policies are lifted.
  • Please continue to recycle.

Spring Clean Up Update:

The annual Town of Jackson and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling event, Spring Clean Up, has been canceled. Compostable brown paper bags will not be handed out at the Recycling Center, Town Hall, or Town of Jackson Public Works. There will be no free curbside yard waste pickup, or free drop-off of residential yard waste at the Rodeo Grounds or Trash Transfer Station.

Residents may purchase compostable brown paper bags or use other means to gather yard waste and bring them to the Trash Transfer Station for composting. The fee for yard waste is $83/ton. Residents should expect to unload their materials. Plastic bags, dog poo, and other trash will be refused in the compost piles. All users of the Trash Transfer Station must have an account to access the facility. Please call 733-7678 in advance to have an account set up. Account set up may take up to 24 hours.
